Chandlerthinks Behind New Branding Project for Georgia’s Trail of Legacy & Lore
Chandlerthinks is thrilled to showcase one of its more recent projects: the development of a new branded trail connecting seven distinct communities in central Georgia.
This branding effort aims to create a deeper, more meaningful, and relevant experience for visitors. The newly defined trail, “Georgia’s Trail of Legacy & Lore” includes attractions, historic sites and museums, all telling the captivating stories of the distinct cultural arts, architecture and heritage found within each community.
Steve Chandler, Owner and Brand Strategist at Chandlerthinks, said, “There’s always a challenge when creating a brand that ties together multiple sites across a large geographic region.” The trail spans more than 100 scenic miles, weaving through cities such as Athens, Eatonton, Macon, Madison, Milledgeville, Old Clinton/Gray, and Oconee County. “This project offered a unique opportunity to shape every aspect of the brand, including the name, as well as setting criteria for trail inclusion and its products,” added Chandler.
Chandler emphasized that place branding is a layered process built on the foundation of a compelling brand story. “It’s not just about designing a new logo and going live the next day. From educating those involved with each site to implementing comprehensive signage, promotional materials, and a website redesign, many details need to be addressed before the public rollout,” he explained.
Hannah Tyson, Chair of Georgia’s Trail of Legacy & Lore, remarked, “We’ve worked diligently on this project and are delighted to see our efforts come to fruition. Collaborating with Chandlerthinks has been a remarkable experience—they truly understood our goals and captured the essence of what we aimed to achieve.”
